Yokohama Vanilla opens its first long-run pop-up at Ecute Akihabara on 7 September 2026 and stays through 1 November. The stall sits in Event Space B, inside the JR Akihabara ticket gates. Hours are 10:00-21:00 on weekdays and 10:00-20:00 on weekends and holidays. Payment is cashless only. Cash is refused.
You need a ticket to reach the stall
Ecute Akihabara is on the paid side of JR Akihabara Station, between the Central and Electric Town gates. If you are already on a Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku or Sobu train, you can walk in without exiting. If you are coming from the Electric Town streets, you have to tap in. That is the part visitors miss, then they stand at the gate wondering why a sweets pop-up does not have a street door.
The same concourse already holds T's Tantan, which opened here on 7 August. Treat the Vanilla stall as a takeaway stop, not a cafe. There is no sit-down service on the pop-up itself. Boxes are individually wrapped, which is why the brand pitches them as gifts you can carry onto a train.
What is actually on the table, with prices
The flagship is the salt vanilla financier. A 3-piece mini gift box is ¥1,100 tax in. A 6-piece box is ¥2,160. The brand's own PR says the financier was certified as a Guinness World Record for the most financiers sold in 12 hours on its 2025 launch day. Record or not, it is the SKU they put in front of station traffic.
Autumn stock is the one to time. Salt vanilla financier "muchi muchi muchi marron" is a 4-piece box at ¥2,376, filled with Italian chestnut ganache. The summer lemon version, "shari juwa lemon", is still listed at the same ¥2,376 for four. Salt vanilla creamy sables are ¥1,550 for eight and ¥2,970 for sixteen.
There is also a Detective Conan collab 3-piece box at ¥1,620, themed to the film Highway of the Fallen Angel. Buy two boxes and you can pick a random acrylic charm from wave 1 or wave 2, while stock lasts. Wave 1 is Conan, Chihaya Hagiwara, Kenji Hagiwara, Jinpei Matsuda and Shugoro Yokomizo. Wave 2 is Ai Haibara, the Detective Boys, Masumi Sera, and Kogoro with Ran. You do not choose the character inside the wave.
The cheesecake window closes 18 September
The frozen "mouth-melt" raw vanilla Basque cheesecake is ¥3,402 at the counter, one cake, three per person. It is listed only through Friday 18 September, or until it sells out. The PR says it is handed over frozen and is safe to carry for about 1.5 hours. That is a tight window if you are still shopping Radio Kaikan after this. Eat it the same night or get it into a fridge.
Yokohama Vanilla is a 2024 Yokohama gift brand run by Yuto Takahashi. This is not a permanent Akihabara tenant. It is a station pop-up that happens to sit on one of the busiest JR platforms in Chiyoda. Member points apply if you show the official LINE card at checkout. Stock can be capped per person when the queue builds.
